Daily Dose of Acerola Cherry for Brighter Skin

Bright skin is always what I want. Since I have quite darker skin tone than I wanted (hahaha), and it sure is something I can change, so I decided to at least achieve bright, clear skin.

So when The Face Shop Korea came up with a range of facial foam with simple-but-attractive packaging, I decided to buy another one with Acerola Cherry extract, after I got my first one (and completely forgot to blog about it) with Peach extract. Yeah I admit it, fruity scent or packaging always got me bad, immediate loss.

Buying cleansing foam is always been my favourite yet it's also my peeve, since I always been afraid of the foam making my skin squeaky clean. Squeaky clean might be good for plates but not for skin, because it means it's also sucking the moisture/hydration off your skin. NOOOOOO QAQ

Foil sealant

The packaging is simple, a white squeeze tube with semi-transparent plastic flip cap top, sealed with aluminum foil as guarantee we bought a new product, and keeping the contents intact from any kind of unwanted substance in your daily facial foam.
For one time usage, I squeezed the creamy consistency facial foam, and it has this light flowery scent instead of cherry-sh scent since it's said to have acerola cherries extract. But that's not a big concern, since the scent is light and not overpowering. A little goes a long way, a size of green pea will lather to quite a lot of foam and it's enough for my entire face.
Upon application, I can feel this product cleanse my face pretty well, and without that squeaky-clean feel, yet not really moisturising to the point I can fill up my gas tank by squeezing my nose pores (no way la XD). Some reviews even say this alone can cleanse the makeup to your eye makeup, but no, I don't trust solely on cleansing cream/foam to remove makeup. Cleansing oil FTW! :D

Overall, I like how this cleanser lathers, cleaning dirt and everything on my face, but too bad it's a bit too drying for my taste. I really dig dewy skin but this one doesn't support me on that, so I decided to finally left this out of my daily skincare routine after the second bottle (the first one was the Peach one). Too bad, I like the smell and how soft the foam was, maybe it's just not meant for me lol. Though it didn't dry me up to the point my skin is flaking or something horrible like that. Maybe if you don't really like dewy-look and prefers matte, or have super-oily skin, this could be your choice.

VERDICTS
Performance, scores 8/10 for cleaning, yet too drying for my taste, 4/10 for brightening. Not brightening even a bit, not at least significantly and I can't see the difference between before and after I used this. Duh.
Value for money, 10/10, TOP NOTCH. For around IDR80,000 (or maybe less) or USD6, you'll get 170 ml of products and since a little goes a long way, it will take probably more than 6 months even with two people using it twice a day (I use this together with my mom). Lately, it was my dad who use it with my mom after I stopped lol.

Buy it again?
Ugh--probably not. I'll look for something else with more moisturising effects. Any suggestions for me? :D
