Review: Etude House Precious Mineral Sun BB Finish Powder
Hello again to you all!
Again from my favourite brand from Korea, Etude House! Now it's a face powder, Sun BB Finish Powder.
Actually I bought this about a year ago yet I just had the time to review this in between my office work, my online shop, and my art commissions. Had to say, this is my favourite loose powder since then and I can't find something else to replace this. Maybe if this runs out, I'll try the baby pudding series. But for now, let's get into this thing!
I once said I like dewy finish, healthy glowing skin which caused me tried all the three Aura Nymph versions, but once in a while I do need a matte finish as well. Aside the matte finish being provided by the BB Cream (Precious Mineral Cotton Fit BB Cream, yes), I need something else lighter. Then a friend told me this is a nice loose powder to set your makeup after BB cream application. So I bought it. I'm such a sucker when it comes to a good product and it's recommended by a trusted friend *laughs*.
The packaging comes in a white square box, with shield-shaped silver emboss on the the front and sprinkles of stars around the shield, and orange fonts for the SPF.
SPF 15. Quite low but I guess it's enough for daily wear if you're working inside a room and didn't made lots of contact with sunray. Below is the barcode for the product.
On the top of the box (the lid), the name of product and SPF details, written in Latin alphabets and Korean Hangul. Pardon my ugly-nail-but-awesome-nail-color, it's Innisfree ECO Nail Color Basic in shade #13
Inside, the container of the loose powder! Pretty much the same as the box but this plastic container can do some chameleon-like trick in purple-blue shade, works like a hologram, changing colours when you tilt the container or looking it from other sides. Not too sturdy, not too fragile, and it's SO small. Fits perfectly in a small-medium makeup pouch, and not taking so much space since its size is only about 2/3 of your palm.
Insides. The cap is a screw cap so you can make sure it won't get opened on its own and keep the loose powder on its place. Moreover the puff is covering the holes completely so you can rest assure, it'll stay inside.
The puff's not really cute but the longer I stare at it, the cuter it gets. WHAT SORCERY IS THIS!!
But it won't last long, a week after you start using the puff it will soon turn into cream-colored or pinkish brown or even brownish yellow, depends on your BB Cream LOL.
I won't call this puff useless but I prefer using brush, but this is a good partner for the loose powder if you're on a trip and don't feel like taking the brushes along with you. The fiber is soft and puffy, feels even softer than marshmallow, and it doesn't hurt your skin when you apply using the puff.
As usual, hygiene thing is Korean products' main issue, so before you can start using the powder you have to pull the plastic protector, where some of the powder sticking on it and even though I tried to tapped it down onto the container, it's still there. So being a cheapo is not working here *laughs*
Upon application, it will feel like something soft hugging your skin nicely, giving your over-glowing skin a nice touch of matte look. And that applies to touch-ups as well. I almost always using thing powder to touch up my makeup when it started to feel too oily or my face was already looking like oil mine. And voila! I'm good to go again!
It covers slightly, subtly brightening your complexion so this will go fine on those dull-skin days and also (I don't know if it's just me or this powder does work that way) I find some of the fine lines around mouth and eyes are covered nicely. On the minus side, this thing doesn't really last long. My touch up will be fine until the first couple of hours and I have to do it again because my face will start to look like oil mine again. But overall, I like this loose powder and it lasts centuries before it runs out and I have to look for another replacement for this one.
Buy it again? Probably no because Etude House already discontinued this one and replacing it with Baby Sweet Sugar Powder--which looks alike with this one from the colour and the texture--but the packaging is all-new and it's cuter LOL.
