Review: Etude House Hot Style Bubble Hair Coloring in Natural Brown
Hello again Pretties! Haven't seen you in a while so maybe I'll just write this blogspot while waiting for the colour to set.
YES. I just dyed my hair with the mega famous Etude House Hot Style Bubble Hair Coloring. What a long name for a product, but since it's Etude, well. Okay. LOL.
First thing first, I won't post any pictures all bloggers already had, I'll only put my opinion about this hair colorant which is super practical! The step by step is already written on the instructions (which came in the box as well), and any other bloggers already put it into their reviews so I will suggest you look for their posts too. Not that I'm really lazy, but I have to admit I took a look on ALL of the review posts on Natural Brown (and other colours as well), and they all wrote down the step by step.
So let's move on to my review. This post is based on my personal opinion, I bought the package out of my own pocket, not a sponsored post.
At first, I bought #3 Natural Brown because on the model, the colour looks so nice and I really want my hair to look like that, maybe a little brighter. I had had looking for all reviews on this colour and found a lot of final output on other bloggers. Some has orange-ish colour, some only had hints of light brown on their hair like highlights, but there are also some successfully dyed their entire hair and turned out nice.
So this is my turn, I said, with my roots already getting black and my dyed hair is getting more and more ginger-ish lol. Time to move on to brown colour, hopefully it will come out like it is shown on the box.
The steps sure were easy. There are only a pump bottle of developer and a sachet of colorant agent, and rubber gloves plus plastic cape to protect your clothing and skin. Wear the cape, mix the colorant agent to the pump bottle filled with oxidising developer, recap the pump, tilt the bottle gently around 8-12 times left and right, feel the bottle heated a bit, wear your gloves, and you're ready to spread all of the puffy, white foam all over your hair.
I thought it was easy to apply since the other bloggers also said so, but I was having a little bit difficulties since I couldn't see the back of my head and did I reach all over the roots or not. They said it's as easy as shampooing your hair, but for me it's not that easy lol. But that problem can be solved with one or two hair pins or clips, and it's done.
I left the colorant agent on my hair for around 45-50 minutes, quite long, but I saw my hair already turned into the colour I wanted, mostly on the front part which you can see clearly. My scalp was stained with orangey brown, and my hair felt hard already lol so I quickly get into the bathroom and rinse my hair.
Usually, when I dyed my hair with my usual hair dye, I can get my hair separated from each other easily, but it didn't happen with this Bubble Hair Colouring, so I was a bit panicked. After around five minutes rinsing my hair, it kept stuck on each other, and won't fall like when I was using another hair dye. My hairstylist said, after a colouring session, you shouldn't wash your hair with shampoo since it might wash down the colour as well, so I was kinda hesitating in the bathroom for few round of minutes again LOL.
AND THEN MIRACLE HAPPENED.
That purple sachet, a bonus from the package, which people said a wonderful hair treatment, caught my eyes. So I decided to use it straight, without shampooing first. AND IT HAPPENED. I only used it around a quarter of the sachet, but my hair immediately fell softly like it was never been dyed OH MY GOD THAT PURPLE HAIR TREATMENT IS A MIRACLE IT'S LIKE APHRODITE'S HAIR PRODUCT! Hahahaha yes I may be exaggerating but it's true, and didn't need much of it to make my hair back into silky again.
Then, another weird thing. Usually after dyeing my hair, when I'm rinsing it, a LOT of hair will fall and clog the water drain, but it DIDN'T HAPPEN with this hair colorant. Another miracle happened!! LOL!
The result? A little bit too orange I was pretty shocked that my bangs looked like there was less hair there, made me look like I'm thin-haired if not bald on front HAHAHA. Okay let's get on to the result, which I really like even though it made me look like I shaved my front hair on purpose :)))
This one is the 'before', in the night, under indoor light. This was after two or three times colouring using Miratone hair colorant, the brightest one in shade I can find. Still so dark after all those efforts lol
This one is in the day, with sun light piercing through the skylight. The colour only appears when it's under the bright light like sun or spotlight.
AND TADAAAAAAAAA THE RESULT!!
ORANGE. It said it's "natural brown" on the box. But I actually satisfied with how light my hair turned out to be. I wasn't expecting it to be this light but yes, this colour is what I wanted since I want to dye my hair a bit purplish but not dare to bleach my hair, so I'm coloring it again and again to make it lighter and lighter. Apparently Etude's Bubble Hair Color helps me a LOT in lightening my hair colour.
Overall:
Score 4.5/5
I love how this product lightens up my hair colour from medium-dark to light in a day. The price isn't so bad compared to other brands like Fr**hl*ght which I used few times but still not giving me the result I wanted. Etude one costs three to four times compared to Miratone, but the result from Etude sure gave me three to four times than Miratone.
The price depends on where you buy the product. In few online shops, it ranges around IDR 90,000 to IDR 120,000 for one box of Bubble Hair Colour. In the counters, last time I checked it was still tagged at IDR 125,000 or IDR 135,000, I haven't visited the counter again lately.
Buy it again?
YES. Definitely. It lightened up my hair colour like it's a bleach but it's not. Probably the next one will be another natural brown or the purple one.
