Review: Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer in Pure Nymph
This is--I don't know either it's a good thing or a bad thing from me--once I started writing a blog post, I can't stop. So after the Wonder Pore Freshner I decided to move on to makeup review!
Glowing skin. What's your first thought upon hearing the words?
Mine is healthy, dehydrated skin that looks like oily skin when it's not. Korean makeups.
Korean makeups. Yes. Definitely. Everywhere you see Korean makeup ads with their famous singers or member of a girlband on it, their facial skin were perfectly flawless, smooth, with healthy glow clearly shown on their forehead, nose, and cheekbones. So pretty.
I am one of those girls who got captured by the beauty of glowing skin like the ones the K-stars were having. Not only the girls, even their guys have that kind of healthy glow all over their face and it looks so youthful and healthy (at least for me lol). I wonder what they do and how much they spend on their skincare, but since they're stars, no wonder if their skin care and treatments costs millions--which I can't afford (YET).
So in order to make everyone able to have that kind of healthy-looking, glowing skin like K-stars, Etude House finally butting in (few years ago) into the business and launched something they called "VOLUMER". Something so strange in our ears few years ago yet so familiar nowadays. Yes, a makeup that allows you to have a facial skin of a K-star without million-won worth of skincare and treatment.
Me, as one who fascinated and instantly loving that kind of look, immediately gave it a try since I happened to be having someone so generous to give me few samples of the volumer before I got to buy the full size. I got all three shades (#1 Pure Nymph, #2 Pearl Nymph, and #3 Transparent Nymph) and the one I'm going to review is the #1 Pure Nymph. Yeah, yeah, I know I'm so late on this product but it's better to be late rather than never right? (alibi!)

LOOK AT THAT GLOWING SKIN. Who's not gonna love it! Moreover the endorsing model is one of my biases, Sandara Park of 2NE1! She's cute, youthful, looks like a rabbit (and she admitted she was called by cheap rabbit lol), and she's so damn pretty even though she's already 31. HOW CAN LAH.
Okay, BTT. Mine came in a sachet as it was only a sample size of 1 gr of the product. Let's move on to the review, enough blabbering.
No particular scent, the texture is like gel. Not runny at all so don't worry it won't run on your hand or finger and dripping everywhere. Comes in a cute peach pink colour, slimy trail of transparent colour. So cute. But it doesn't seem like it's gonna make your skin glow like Dara's skin on the pic before this right?
Wait. Wait for it. Let's try smearing it on my back of hand. *rubs rubs*
Looked like a trace of gel, and still has the peachy colour. Let's blend it some more. *rubs rubs*
Fully blended! WHOA. Looked like I've smeared my hand with petroleum jelly or some kind of oily thing, right lololol. But the result is exactly like what I want, just like Dara's glowing skin. The result on my hand and on my face were surprisingly close to each other. And yeah, I'm loving the result! <3
BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT.
On the other handddd I found my face was veeeerry sticky after application like my skin was extremely hydrated, or some insolent beach slapped my face with petroleum jelly all over her hand. UUH TTATT I'm loving the result but I don't like walking around with my face feeling like I used Vaseline petroleum jelly as my moisturizer. Nu-uh. Me SO SAD. Just right when I'm about to put this thing into my shopping basket, then BAM I cancel it just like that.
And then I tried the other versions, #2 and #3. And I just love #2, Pearl Nymph. Not as glowing as this pure nymph but at least didn't give me the sticky feeling all over my face. And the glow was just perfectly subtle, since my skin is the normal-oily type so the #2 suits me just well. Maybe if you have dry skin type, this #1 will suits you better.
Final verdicts:
+ Gives (super) dewy finish look, glowing prettily if you don't want to say 'excessively'
= price is quite affordable, around IDR160k (US$14) to IDR190k (US$18) depends on where you buy it (online). Pretty sure it's gonna cost more if you buy it at the counter
- SO STICKY, me no likey!
= if you have normal - oily skin like me and prefer more glitter, perhaps you can take a look on #2
= purchase it (#1) again? NAH.
Verdicts and review are solely based on my opinions. No one sponsored me on this nor did I write this with bad intentions. Result may vary on different skin type and/or different skin care routine.
P.S. On pictures were written and watermarked with 'Mignon Cerise'. I'm not stealing but it was this blog's name before it turned into 'Matryoshcat' few months ago to suit my twitter and instagram account. And I also have some mini reviews on my instagram if you'd like to give it a glance, please do so ;p
