Review: Etude House Wonder Pore Freshener
Uh. Hello. Finally I got myself back to this blog after some time. Not really 'some' tho, maybe it's more like AGES AGO. So I decided at least a blogpost per week might have my brain trained to write in English.
SO. How's life, peeps? Finally I'm gonna reviewing this small, travel friendly travel-size (you don't say) Etude House's Wonder Pore Freshner! Actually this was my first toner I've ever had (past tense, yes, this thing was already finished since few months ago hahaha). Someone was selling this cuties in few bottles so I decided to get myself two of them. As a trial before the full size (250ml) or the fuller size (500ml) which I never get to buy in the end and bought Skinfood Peach Sake Toner instead! Might review it later :p
Oh well, let's get into the review, less blabbering nonsenses!
As I've said before, this toner/freshner was the first for me, so I was quite confused on how to use it, how much should I use it. Back then, I was just starting using makeup and 'complete' Korean set of skincare. And this one was kinda confusing me lol.
Turns out, I only need to pour some of the content onto a cotton pad and swap my whole face in a straight outwards motions. I usually started like I'm wearing BB Cream, from the nose to forehead, moving onto cheeks and finally the chin. On accidental events of pouring too much of the toner, I usually widen the range to my neck.
First impression of this toner, it smelt like a kind of ethanol. Smelt like hospital but a lot softer (I don't really like the smell of a hospital, really), and when applied to skin it felt cold and it stung me (WHEN I GOT ZITS, YES) when I apply it too close to my eyes. Turned out, it contained some kind of astringent/ethanol so it did sting but in the same time it cooled down my skin. I like that kind of sensation but too bad the smell wasn't kind of my liking.
Packed in a small 30 ml tube, with screwed cap and HUGE hole (sorry forgot to take the pic ^^;; ) that always made me accidentally poured too much of the liquid (success to fail ratio was like five to three) unless I clog the hole with the cotton pad and let it pour bit by bit. Takes a bit longer but it can lessen the possibility of your toner spill everywhere and fill your room with ethanol scent. Not the best room fragrance, I must say. The full size bottles come with friendlier flip top cap and smaller hole, anyway. So no worry if you buy the full size, you won't go through my problem of spilling ethanol and spread the fresh scent everywhere.
A bottle of 30 ml lasted around a couple of weeks, and I used it everyday, twice a day after bath. Sadly, there was no significant progress on my skin, moreover the long-awaited pore-size reducing result was never came even just around the corner. Perhaps I gotta buy the full size first to see the result? But from what I've read, there was no way you can make your pores smaller, but making it less visible is still can be done.
Conclusions?
Not the best toner out there and I won't buy it again (and I did). Smells too strong for me and sometimes it stings on my skin.
I'm not saying this is a bad product but maybe I used it for too short time period so the result wasn't optimized as well. And result also may vary depends on your skin type and another skincare regime, I had normal-oily skin most of the times.
Item was purchased and the review is solely based on my opinions, not absolutely a thing will happen if you buy this too :)
Well, then, see you on the next review! Wish me luck on keeping my blog worked on constantly! :D
P.S. On pictures were written and watermarked with 'Mignon Cerise'. I'm not stealing but it was this blog's name before it turned into 'Matryoshcat' few months ago to suit my twitter and instagram account. And I also have some mini reviews on my instagram if you'd like to give it a glance, please do so ;p
