Review: Hada Labo Shirojyun Line

One drop lights up your skin!

Sounds familiar? Yes, it's similar to Hadalabo's Moisturising line's tagline: One drop locks up all the ocean!

Recently, a super nice friend of mine got a set of Shirojyun & Bokujyun line from Hada Labo, but she already made an oath she will never use something with "whitening" labeled on the package, so she decided to pass on this Shirojyun and gave it to me. THANK YOU DEAR! :*

I got a Shirojyun line, from cleansing foam, lotion, and milk. I already use them for about two months and I'm loving it! And I already plan to buy my second batch on this daily skincare regime LOL. Why? Because it has "Sold 1 every 2 seconds in Japan" label attached on it. I TRUST JAPANESE FOR THEIR SKIN IS SUPER SMOOTH. What I'm saying is, if you see something that labeled best-selling in Japan, just grab it and pay it at the cashier, Japanese best-selling overview never let us down :D

What Hada Labo said about this Shirojyun:

ONE DROP LIGHTS UP YOUR SKIN
Fulfill your dreams of a white, perfect skin with Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening range that contains Arbutin to help fight darks spots and brighten up skin tone. Also contains Vitamin C to enhance skin fairness and reawaken dull skin caused by exposure to UV rays.

I wasn't expecting my skin to be super-white like all the Indonesian wants, I'm looking for a brightener (or whitener) to brighten up my dark spots and flaws from pimples. Duh I really hate it! T_T
The facial foam comes in a blue tube packaging with white cap. Tube mode is quite hygienic but still requires a cut-it-into-half and dig-the-content at the end of the usage, since it's a tube (see pic above).

The facial wash has a creamy texture and foams up pretty good. It only requires few scrubbing moves and it already covers up my entire face. And it DOESN'T HAVE ANY SMELL. First time having an odorless facial foam. Super plus. Actually, it has a faint smell of wax, but it doesn't affect anything on my skin, so, not a big problem :D

Pros on facial foam:
Economic mode! A small drop of the cream can foam up and cover my entire face!
Doesn't make my skin flaking (I used Acnes before, also from Rohto, and my right cheek flakes up like crazy)
Leaves my skin soft & supple!

Cons on facial foam:
❤ The wax smell, don't like it TT_TT

bottle for lotion (and milk), they both look the same
Next, I got the lotion and the milk, both come in foggy white plastic bottles with blue plastic flip-top caps. Convenient! No digging needed (unless you had fingers as thin as pencils, you may do so :p)

I have to admit, I thought what they called lotion is something creamy and rich in texture, and I was dumbfounded when saw this Shirojyun lotion has a texture as light as water. It has greyish transparent colour, which almost invisible on the pic above, and super watery. Just like dropping water on your palm. And because of its watery texture (it's also ODORLESS ❤), it spreads so damn easy on your face. I only need 3~4 drops of the lotion, and it's already sufficient for my entire face. LOVE IT.

Pros on lotion:
❤ Watery texture
❤ Absorbs easily
❤ Odorless

Cons:
❤ NONE ❤ I just love this lotion so much!

The last one is the MILK. Like its name, MILK, it does look like milk but with thicker texture, and the colour is also white milk. Instead of the lotion, the milk has all the lotion-texture I thought it would be; it's thick, sticky, and creamy white. Well, I don't really like using the milk because it leaves my skin looks a bit oily and sticky, but it required to obtain perfect facial skin, and I will go through all the uncomfortable feeling LOL. The stickyness fades away as it absorbs into the pore and leaves skin smooth & supple, so I let the sticky-feeling-hate slip away. ODORLESS. Again. I think all of the Hada Labo series don't put any fragrance, and maybe that's why the facial foam smells like wax LOL.

Pros on milk:
❤ Makes skin smooth & supple
❤ Absorbs pretty quick
❤ Odorless

Cons on milk:
❤ STICKY FEELINGS T_T

Purchase again?
ABSOLUTELY YES.

Note:
They had mask sheets & essence for whitening series also, and I'm planning to buy the  essence next month. The essence is quite pricey for me, last time I saw it at Guardian drugstore, it's IDR129,000 (about US$ 11.5). Next month it is. LOL.

I've been using this for about two months, and yes, it does show effects on my skin. The dark spots getting lighter, skin is much more smoother & suppler than before (when I still use Acnes), and yes, sometimes I feel like my facial skin is much lighter when I stare at the mirror for some time. LOL me such a narcisstic!

The other part that gets lighter is: my palms. HAHAHAHAHAHA I don't care, no one will stares at my palms and say, "your palms are weird" LOL.
